 ♥ Nagasaki

There was a blackout in many places in Nagasaki by the Typhoon Shanshan. That happened to my parents' house and my aunt's house, and the water stopped too. I spent 2 days to reach Nagasaki, so when I arrived at my aunt's house, those came back already. My aunt's house was OK, but the window glasses were broken in some houses around there.
I have to take the train and the buses to go to my parents' house, so it takes long. I went there after I visited my father in the hospital. My mother already cleaned the garden, so it looked good. My parents' house was OK. The windows and the tiles on the roof were not broken. There was an unconvenient place without shops around there. But the vending machine was removed....

There was only a few buses in an hour. I have to use it when I go somewhere from my parents' house. The bus stops around there are shaped a fruit. Strawberry, Mellon, ... etc.

On the next day I visited my grandmother in a nursing home. I met her after 1 year, but she didn't remember my face and name. She remembered her son's name (my father), but she was talking the same thing many times by dementia. She didn't try to hear what I said. I heard the same thing over 10 times in 15 or 20 minutes ....
Then I visited my family's grave. I can go there only when I go to Nagasaki. Our grave was OK, but I found another one was broken by the typhoon .... I thought this typhoon was really terrible. My parents' house hadn't been changed since my father fell down by apoplexy. My photo albums taken in my childhood are there.

On the last day I went back to my aunt's house, and had a dinner with my aunt, mother, and sister at the restaurant in the hotel. The hotel was on the hill, so the view was beautiful. It was a course dinner and it was very delicious. This time I was very busy in Nagasaki because of the typhoon ... the time went by very fast.

♥ Typhoon Shanshan! The longest day in my life

September 17, when I was planning to fly to Nagasaki, my hometown on my summer vacation, The Typhoon Shanshan was just comming there ....
When I arrived at the Haneda Airport by the limousine bus, I checked the flight information. Oh my goodness! All the flights after the one I took had been cancelled ... I was so unlucky. I could change the flight to the other day, but if I do it I had to shorten the stay in Nagasaki. So I decided to go there by the bullet train. This was the wrong decision, though. The bullet train I took stopped at Hiroshima because of the typhoon. And all the hotel were full in Hiroshima. I didn't want to stay all night in the bullet train, so I went back to Okayama to stay at a hotel. It was raining hard and the wind was blowing heavily. I called my mother and heard that the light went out at my parents' house and my aunt's house. Next morning, the weather became fine with heavy wind. I went to the train station after breakfast. I went to Hakata by the bullet train, then went to Nagasaki by the express bus. I finally arrived at my aunt's house around 6 p.m. The light came back, but I saw the electric wire was cut and lying on the ground by the falling wood. I heard there was a tornado in Miyazaki prefecture. The Typhoon Shanshan was the biggest typhoon in Nagasaki in last 10 years. It landed on Nagasaki, there was a blackout in many places, and the planes and trains stopped.
The longest 2 days for me ... finally finished. I spent 2 days to go from my house to Nagasaki. If I had changed the flight on the next day, it would have been much easier. I didn't have to spend such much money and time. I was just unlucky.

 ♥ Steelheart will be back!!

Finally Steelheart will be back!
Steelheart is one of my favorite bands. I became their fan since I listened to their song "She's Gone" on the radio in 1990. Then this song made a big hit in Japan, and they came to Japan for the promotion & the tour. Their shows were amazing! Mike Matijevic's vocal was so powerful as that on the CD, very impressive, and the other guys were the great players. Their shows were awesome and I couldn't believe it was their first tour in Japan.

At the show in Denvor in 1992, the lighting set collapsed and hit Mike's head ... Mike seemed to be injured seriously, but he recovered. He released the "Wait" album in 1996 and came back to Japan with the new guitarist. I went to see his acoustic shows. His vocal was more emotional and amazing than before! Then Mike sang for the movie "Rockstar". You can hear his powerful vocals on the soundtrack.

And finally their new album seems to be out next spring. And the original lead guitarist, Chris Risola will be back to the band! I heard that he's been working for his studio in Florida after Mike's accident. I've been hoping that Mike and Chris play together again, so I feel very happy now. I can't wait for seeing their shows agian in Japan!!

♥ Negative Listening Party - 2006.09.08 ROCK INN CURRENT

Yesterday I went to the listening party of Finnish band, NEGATIVE. It was at the bar called ROCK INN CURRENT in Shinjuku, Tokyo. The special guests were Jonne (Vocal) and Larry (Guitar) from the band. There were about 100 fans in that small bar, so it was so hot! Most fans were young girls ... maybe because of Jonne's good looking. The new video clip of their new single "Planet Of The Sun" released already was played in the monitor. And 5 songs from their new album "Anorectic" released on September 27 were played. This single is my recent favorite. Their music sounds like the early Harem scarem, and Jonne's vocal is similar to Harry Hess. I saw their show in 2004, and it was great. They are full of youth! I want to see their show again.
If you like the melodious hard rock, please check out their music.
